November’s Beaver Moon: The Last Supermoon of the Year!

Don’t miss the last supermoon until October 2025!

We've enjoyed supermoons since August, but November’s full moon will be our last until next October. Mark your calendars for Friday, Nov. 15 at 4:29 PM EST for the peak view!

Defining a Supermoon

A supermoon occurs when the full moon aligns with its closest approach to Earth, called its perigee, creating a bigger, brighter moon in the night sky.

Since August, we’ve seen monthly supermoons starting with August’s Sturgeon Moon, followed by September’s Harvest Moon, and October’s Hunter’s Moon — the brightest full moon of 2023.

The name “Beaver Moon” comes from the activity of beavers this time of year. As winter nears, they work hard on their dams, preparing to settle in for the cold season.

Different cultures give it various names: Deer Rutting Moon (as deer seek mates) Freezing Moon or Frost Moon – The Mourning Moon in Celtic tradition, a time for reflection and renewal.

Missed It? You’ll Have to Wait!

If clouds block your view on Nov. 15, the next supermoon won’t come until Oct. 7, 2025—that’s 326 nights away. Fingers crossed for clear skies!

Invite friends and family, grab blankets, and head to an open spot to fully enjoy the supermoon’s bright glow. Stargazing apps can help you track its position in the sky.

Let November’s supermoon be your reason to pause, look up, and appreciate nature’s wonders. Whether solo or with friends, it’s a spectacular sight you don’t want to miss!
